Will GOP Show Up To Discuss Health Care With Obama?

UpTakeVideo asked:

President Barack Obama used his weekly address to call on Democratic and Republican leaders to attend next weeks health care meeting in good faith to find reforms that work for American families and small businesses. With several health insurance companies announcing steep hikes in their rates from 10 to over 30 percent it is clear that the status quo, while good for the insurance industry, is bad for the American people. After a year of exhaustive debate, it is time to move forward on reform. Video from the White House Distributed by Tubemogul.

Here’s why you shouldn’t believe slanted statistics: No one asked me.

There are lots of idiots in this country who believe the slant because it’s popular to do so.

What many people forget is this. The only body of government who has the authority to make laws and pass financial packages is Congress. And for six years now – for many of those “Bush years” some like to point fingers at – Congress has been democrat controlled. “Just Blame Bush” is a nice try but an enormous FAIL. In fact “just blame Bush” is rather silly when when confronted with the non-debatable reality of a Democrap controlled Congress even in those Bush years. Get a clue.

Contrary to your statements, Louison84, here are the facts:
    1. Rasmussen Reports tells us “41% of voters favor the proposed health care plan, while 56% OPPOSE it. Those figures include 45% who strongly oppose the plan and just 23% who strongly favor it.”
    2. Gallup polls tell us “..By 55% to 39%, Americans say the president and Congress should now suspend work on the healthcare bill and consider alternatives rather than trying to pass the current version.”

Those who OPPOSE are the MAJORITY.

This was quite a show of smoke and mirrors. The Progressives put out such a radical plan that they never compromised on, which is so pro union, anti business, too expensive and big government that there is no hope of any Conservative could possibly endorse. They have the audacity and arrogance to call this a bipartisan solution when it is actually social economic *******. Government is inherently incompetent and corrupt so therefore should do less. Common sense screams use small government.

“The US is the world’s richest nation and the only industrialised democracy that does not provide healthcare coverage to all its citizens.” – BBC News, 26 February 2010

Every American should be ashamed of that fact.

3:25 “Let’s move forward together” Mr President!

I think the debate just started as it wasn’t an open debate before today.

(“The folks in the White House just must be kicking themselves right now. They thought that coming out of Baltimore when the President went in and was mesmerizing and commanding in front of the House Republicans that he could do that again here today. That would revive health care and would change the public opinion about their health care bill and they can go on to victory. Just the opposite has happened.” –David Gergen after the Health Care Summit

    Hello All,
Sometimes Obama sounds coherent and the healthcare has promise, problem I have is pouring good money into a system that is broken, fix the problem first then maybe I will support pouring good money into the healthcare system. Best Regards, MrD =)

obama just said that “we need help right now”. someone should ask him – if that’s the case mr. president, why is it the case that the proposed health care plan will start 4 yrs later??? yet we start paying for it right now in the form of higher taxes.

I thought he said in the state of the union we were going to pivot from healthcare to jobs. Give it up and stop playing games. That goes for republicans, democrats, and yes, definitely, Obama.

  17. louison84 said

I agree jobs are what people want BUT THATS A DIFFERENT SUBJECT, the video that we’re commenting on and discussing here is about HEALTH CARE that obama just talked about, is that clear enough?

  18. jimpodi said

@louison84 you make a lot of general statements, but never back any of them with facts to support your claim. health care is not the main issue now. it’s jobs period. people need to work in order to make $ to pay for healthcare. simple enough for you to understand?

    You are quite welcome!

I said our RIGHT to FREEDOM is God given. NOT that it was FREE or that we don’t have to fight for it. BIG DIFFERENCE! Why not focus your obvious anger to the government that is hell bent on removing your freedom! I don’t care if you believe in God or not. Why do you care what I believe in?
