this man and his ideals are what truly make america look better to the rest of the world i am an australian and have not agreed with the course the american gov has taken but now with obama in and men like gen powell it gives the rest of the world hope that the world will be a good place and one thing i would like to say is that there is only one race and that is the human race

Colin Powell is one of the wisest, most honest, and most clear-headed figures in American politics. He truly demands respect. I have never seen a single prominent figure in America display such a bold and clear analysis of our election.

Please excuse me for not being particularly knowledgeable about US politics, but why did this man never run for presidency?

I salute you Sir! Glad to see there is somebody defending Muslims against the label of “Decepticons” (bad guys from Transformers)!
By the way, Bush has a Muslim in his cabinet: Zalmay Khalilzad, wikipedia it!!!!!!!!!

So what? What did McCain do in his last 20 years in Washington? Anything big? Anything washington changing? No. Obama didn’t either be he’s more likely to bring change then a Bush Lackey.

he donates the maximum amount to mccain’s campaign, then endorses the guy running against him a few months later? his position probably doesn’t have anything to do with ideals. and LINCOLN was a man of strong moral character and advocated hard work and personal responsibility. doesn’t sound like the deomocrats of today, does it?

  14. bravesfanforever31 said

If that is the case, you never really respected Powell. If he endorsed Obama along time ago, your arguement would be more valid maybe. Listening to what Powell said about how the party and the McCain-Palin campaign were doing explains why he endorsed Obama. I wonder if you would have said the same thing when white Republicans endorsed Obama? IF not then you have problem with skin color. When the Republican party goes back to embracing the mantle of Lincoln more people of color will support them.

although i support republicans i respect powell’s action, people who criticize powell don’t even qualify as being a patriot, he’s a 4 star general ffs

  16. mapinkley said

i lost a lot of respect for powell for putting ideals aside to support a skin color.

why does he pronounce his name as Coe-lin? it’s Coh-lin, a good Scottish name. America sure likes to **** words don’t they, huh

Colin Powell is a criminal. This man held up a vile of anthrax and told a tale that Saddam possessed and was in the process of making weapons of mass destruction, thereby dragging the USA into an illegal war on a nation that wasnt at war with anyone at the time. A war for control of natural resources is a war crime and powell should be in jail for high treason along with his fellow cronies George Bush and **** Cheney.

Regarding the racial “argument” – I don’t recall General Powell endorsing Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. Downplaying his reasoning for endorsing then Senator Obama is desperate.

I vote all over the party lines, but I’m very glad we finally elected a President at least partly on the basis of his intelligence – not despite it.

  22. heartyhoopz1184 said

haha being secondary citizens for soooo long, it makes sense that 90% of black people would vote for a highly qualified black candidate.

“it’s all about color” what a selfish thing to say. you have absolutely no idea what its like NOT to be YOU, nor do you attempt to understand the perspective and psychology of others. it must **** being you.

  23. tubub said

    your a fucking dipshit

go do something with your life for once and leave…

You wake up you fucking waste of space… you just called colin powell a war pig **** you and leave. You know whats wrong with this country? PEOPLE LIKE YOU! LEAVE

  24. JMB312 said

Agreed. McCain should of ran as an Independent in 2000 with Powell as his running mate against Bush and Gore. A real rage against the machine campaign with viable independent candidates would have been good for our country.

  25. accountnotavailable said

Powell is a pig war criminal and he endorsed another pig war criminal that just voted to give the very “man” that got us into this mess 4 trillion dollars overnight! while we have to wait 4 years maybe more to be bailed out! wake up people! wake up!
